Scottish punter Jamie Gillan has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week Following an Amazing display for the Cleveland Browns.

Nicknamed”The Hammer”, Inverness-born Gillan landed five punts in the 20-yard lineup in the Browns’ 23-3 win also leads the complete NFL in that class with eight in only two games this season.
His six punts from the Jets went a total of 231 yards and just one of them managed to be returned for a total of five metres.
Gillan, that went to school at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, wasn’t chosen at the 2019 NFL Draft, but had been picked up from the Browns as a free agent and named starter after an impressive preseason.
Punt an incredible 74 yards Gillan booted one in Cleveland’s next preseason game.
He is the Browns punter to win the award because Spencer Lanning at 2013.
Although Houston Texans linebacker Whitney Mercilus was named Defensive Player of the week AFC Offensive Player of the Week honours went to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
In the NFC, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson chose the offensive award, defensive honours were won by Shaquil Barrett of this Tampa Bay Buccaneers to get a three-sack screen and the special teams award was won by Chicago Bears kicker Eddy Pineiro for his game-winning 53-yard field goal against Denver.
