The Challenge

Standard Vision’s SV Showcase presents the work of emerging and established artists in a site-specific, month long, exhibition on the #SVLA1 screen in Downtown Los Angeles. Curated by a different gallery or organization each month, the rotating program screens Thursday -Sunday hourly from 9pm-midnight. Standard Vision’s goal is to encourage audiences to participate with art in a new outdoor exhibition experience, and to expose the public to contemporary art.

The Solution

For this collaboration, we provided consultation for Curate LA in the selection of works from three international video artists who were currently exhibiting in the Los Angeles area. Concurrent to our curation of two exhibition programs current at the time— Lieux Dits at Young Projects and the first FEMMEBIT festival at Human Resources— works by Sabrina Ratté and FEMMEBIT artist Julieta Gil were featured alongside a piece by Mickalene Thomas.
