Yvonne Rainer’s WAR

• Yvonne Rainer: Dances and Films, at The Getty, Brentwood.  If you want to get ahead on the art game today… catch the dancer, choreographer and filmmaker’s exhibition at The Getty, open for independence 10am-5:30pm. Through Oct 12th.
• 4th of July Movie Picnic (feat. Davie Allan & The Arrows LIVE!, plus Lost & Found Film Club), at Cinefamily, West Hollywood.  Buffet of ephemeral 16mm oddities from the vaults of Lost & Found Film Club (2-5pm), followed by a live set from David Allan & The Arrows (5pm), and a closing 35mm screening of the infamous motorcycle doc Hell’s Angels Forever (6pm).  Independent patriotism from 2pm.

• Rachel Lord: Documental, closing reception, at Dem Passwords, West Adams.  Writer and professor Mark Kleiman hosts a closing convo on the artist’s 4 paintings created for Ryan Trecartin’s latest movie production.  Closing reception 4pm.
• Emily Mast: Ende (Like A New Beginning) Again, at Night Gallery, DTLA.  Video, live performance, and installation[s] from the meta-theatrical artist currently feat. in the Hammer’s Made In LA showcase.  8-9pm.
• Dustin Metz: Future One Night Only Show, at PØST, DTLA.  The future translated through paintings in red, yellow and blue. 7-9pm.

KChung TV at Made In LA.

• KChung TV with Experimental Half-Hour at Made In LA, at the Hammer, Westwood.  Produced through EHH, KChung Radio launches KChung TV before live audiences. Playing on-site during museum hours, programs are streamed & archived online at kchung.tv.  This episode feat. Christina Gubala, Ian James, and Priscilla Brinshot.  12-5pm.
• INERTIA, at South of Sunset, Echo Park.  A night of chamber music and solo performances organized by Kevin Taylor.  7pm.
• Kio Griffith, Greyghost, Laura Cetilia, Lee Noble, Geoffrey Sexton, Joe Newlin, at Ham & Eggs Tavern, DTLA.  9pm-12am.

Lucky Dragons: Actual Reality at the Hammer

• all things give way, at PØST, DTLA.  Feat. artists: Aaron Brewer, Sarah Bostwick, Vanessa Conte, Jay Erker, and John Pearson as part of the month-long series of one-night Kamikaze exhibitions.  7-9pm.
• Lucky Dragons: Actual Reality, at Made In LA, at the Hammer, Westwood.  Inspired by Bob Miller’s ExploratOrium Light Walks, Lucky Dragons presents a multimedia exploration blurring lines between portrayal and perception, allowing for a debased discovery of objects and sounds in their ‘actual reality.’  7:30-9:30pm.

• Native Strategies: N (enter) S, exhibition opening, at LACE, Hollywood.  Installation designed by Tanya Rubbak opens to the public, as part of Native Strategies’ ongoing summer residency at LACE.  Programs through July 31st.  Opening reception 8pm.
